This is the first quilt I have washed and dried and it ran a lot!  I wash all quilts in cold water, and dry them on regular temp.  I recently washed all my “flag-colored” quilts and none of them ran.  😦

While this is a simple 2 1/2″ block scrap quilt, I got my idea from this awesome book. I’m not much into quilting books, but I absolutely LOVE this book! I’m planning on doing all 16 quilts in the book. The instructions are great!!

Quilt Eleven

12 Feb

“…these all go to, eleven” – Nigel Tufnel, “Spinal Tap”, greatest movie ever.

I received some leftover blocks from a fellow blogger. Here is the original post…

Here is what I got;

These were fabrics that I wouldn’t choose for myself, but I enjoyed thinking outside the box, and really enjoyed the challenge.

I would never pick chartreuse, but thanks to a class with Laurie Shifrin, I was confident to put it in….

Quilt Nine

Pattern: Presidential Pardon, by Sandy Gervais, (Pieces From My Heart)
Made by: Me
Quilted by: ME! My first machine quilting attempt…and binding attempt…don’t look too close:)
Not something I would normally choose to make, but I won the pattern at “Midnight Madness” at www.quiltsandtreasuresinc.com. It was supposed to be appliquéd, but I don’t do that. I gave it to my Mom for Christmas.
